Finding an Iphone 3G
It is a feat to pull off. At least in the Tampa area.I convinced my wife to switch to the Iphone. So, when I decide I wanted to go out and find one, I find that nobody has one. The two Apple stores in the area are both out. And I called one of the AT&T stores to find out that all of their stores in the Tampa area are completely out and it may be a week or more until they get new inventory.
In a word: WOW!The demand for this phone is really amazing. At the same time, I can't help but wonder if Apple might be throttling their inventory just a little to keep a perceived shortage. After all, if you hear of a shortage, you immediately think everybody else wants the phone. And that makes you want it even more.
Smart, Apple. Smart.

This kind of marketing has been happening since the Nintendo Wii came out. The overall idea is to limit supply so demand skyrockets when a new or updated product comes out so it makes it news worthy. This in turn brings the general populous into the "possible consumer " category.
I was in line for the launch at an AT&T store for 3 hours and went under procurement to get mine. I get mine tomorrow exactly 10 days after I ordered it.

Thanks for writing, but I've had it with emails. I seriously have a personal assistant that goes through 6 different
inboxes for me. I have a business partner that takes care of another 3
inboxes. I have people manning my online help system, which seems to
be working out pretty well.
So, I've been trying to keep up with just this one single inbox and
now even this one has become over run. I'm sorry, but email as a
method of communicating with me is just not working out.
At this point - at this point, I'll be handing this inbox over to my
personal assistant as well. She's a wonderful person. Her name's
Luella. She'll forward me what she thinks is important.
So, I may or may not see your email. If it's super important, find
another way to get to me. (This statement, of course, makes the
assumption that if something is super-important then you know of other
ways to communicate with me. I realize this.)
If this is a support issue - need password, bonus, download link, etc
-- put in a ticket at http://www.HarrisHelps.com
Otherwise, if you're a client and it's important - you should have
contact info of people that work with me - so, contact Greg, Richard,
or Luella depending on the nature of your emergency.
Thanks for your understanding.
Harris

There's still *lines* of people at many Apple stores. So, at the end of the day - the demand is real.
(I'm gonna call around Phoenix area today - I have a $300 gift card - I wanna get that 16g.)
Peace,
Harris
